There are some steps that can help us end the covid-19 pandemic in the future. Many people are fed up with how their everyday life is going for the past 2 years, due to the coronavirus. Everybody asks the same question – when is it going to end? Every day the news says that there are hundreds of new cases of the virus, which only makes us feel worse. Wearing masks and not being able to travel, or go to crowded places are some of the measures that people have to follow to “stay safe”. However, are these measures helpful at all? Shouldn’t the virus have had gone away by now? Today we are going to take a look at some steps that we need to take, in order to get the situation under control.
We took a look at a very interesting channel, on youtube, called “The Medical Futurist”. In it, there are very interesting and broad topics that this medical futurist discusses. Today we will see what are the steps he thinks we need to take, as humanity in order to end the pandemic.
First of all, we should learn to live with the virus. Like we have mentioned in many articles before, viruses don’t just disappear. They just become obsolete, like the Spanish Flu. It killed so many people, and yet here we are today. However the flu hasn’t gone away, it is still here, living side by side with us in our daily lives. Viruses become obsolete is when humanity develops herd immunity. That means that people have to naturally get immunity to it.
Of course, everyone knows that when you get sick from some flu or virus, the next time you catch it, you will recover faster and much easier. That is due to your immune system building a pathogen and recognizing the infection. When it has met with it before, it will know how to deal with it in the future.
What else we can do is – meet with each other, lift the lockdowns. By doing this, we are allowing ourselves to develop a natural, herd immunity, which is the key to making the pandemic an endemic. People in New Zealand are free to go out as if they are no virus at all, yet there aren’t mass deaths there due to infection with covid-19.
When we lift restrictions, we can reduce the stress on healthcare. What is happening now all over the world is putting a lot of pressure on the healthcare system. It is not designed to maintain that many patients. This means that potential new cases of infected people, won’t get the necessary care. Many people choose to stay home and remedy themselves, with the help of their personal doctor (in the cases when covid isn’t life-threatening).
And the last thing we can do is to get vaccinated. Many people are against this and there are many reasons why. For one, we can be allergic to some of the contents of the vaccine and get seriously ill and maybe even die. There was one such case this month, of a young boy dying from an allergic reaction to it. And another 13-year old Jacob Clynick, from Zilwaukee, died June 16, 2021, just three days after he got a second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. “The family was told that preliminary autopsy findings suggest Jacob’s heart was enlarged when he died and there was fluid around his heart, Burages said. “
What people need to understand is that the only way to get rid of the coronavirus is by not getting rid of it, because we cant. The only thing we can do is adapt to live with it, by getting heard immunity. Of course, it is always better to get that immunity in a natural way, but for those of you who don’t mind getting a coronavirus vaccine, that’s an option as well.
